Letters at the top = Column letters these identify the different columns.
Numbers down the side = Row numbers these identify the different rows.
Cell reference = A cell reference tells you what row and column it is in.
Active cell = An active cell has a bold black line around the rectangle.
Formula = A fromula is a calculation that you enter in to a square and that gets calculated for you.
(=) = the equals sign is what you must enter before you enter the fromula so it calculates.
(+) = the plus sign is what you enter so your to numbers get added
(-) = the minus sign is what you enter so one of you numbers gets subtracted from the other one.
(*) = the multiplacation sign is what you enter so that you two numbers get multiplyed
(/) = the divider by sign is what you enter so that one of your numbers gets divided by the other one.
